Information for Parents - Helping them Study

How to help your child study

University or college students need to be a lot more motivated than they may have been at school and they will need to take responsibility for completing their work on time. Students are advised to plan a weekly routine, building times in for private study and time off to relax each day. If students find that they are having difficulties with their work, they should talk to their tutor or supervisor, as they will be able to help. Another difference from school is that you, their parent, are not entitled to be told about their grades, whether they are meeting their deadlines or even if they are planning to drop out.
